Technical Background

  VHDL Language

  Logic Synthesis

  Implementation

Implementation is the final process where basic logic elements obtained from synthesis tool are placed and routed in an architecture of selected programmable logic device (PLD). This process is usually performed using tools provided by PLD device vendor. The programming binary file is obtained as the result of implementation. The programming file can be uploaded to PLD device using USB or other standard interface available in PC machines. After programming, the PLD device performs all the functions originally described in HDL language. The most frequently used programmable logic devices are FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) or CPLDs (Complex Programmable Logic Devices).
